Gianfranco Sorasio
Gianfranco Sorasio is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eviso S.p.a. Born in Saluzzo, Italy, in 1975, he dreamed of studying Nuclear Engineering from an early age, a goal he achieved by graduating from Turin Polytechnic in 2000.
He continued his studies for a year at the University of San Diego in California and obtained a PhD in Linear and Non-Linear Physics at Umeå University in Sweden.
In 2003, he became a professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon and his articles were published in leading international journals. He then attended Harvard’s Executive Master’s in ‘Owner and President Management (OPM43)’ and the Executive Program in ‘Achieving Breakthrough Service’.
During his academic experience, he realised that his talents would be better spent in the entrepreneurial world, creating concrete value through the application of technologies.
Thus, in 2006, he founded Iscat S.r.l. in Italy and later founded WS (Wemans Sorasio) Energia LTD in Portugal, specialising in photovoltaic systems, which in a few years became one of the leading companies in the Portuguese electricity sector.
In 2011, he received the Global Partnership Award from Prince Charles of England for the best innovation developed between Portugal and the United Kingdom.
Back in Italy, at the end of 2012 he founded eVISO with his father, sister and brother-in-law, of which he is still Chairman and CEO.
eVISO is a COMMOD-TECH company, listed on the EGM, which has developed an artificial intelligence platform that creates value in the commodities market: energy, gas and apples.
Listed on the stock exchange in 2020, eVISO has been recognised by the Financial Times and Il Sole 24 Ore as one of the fastest growing companies in Italy and Europe.
Its proprietary digital infrastructure underpins a value creation model considered unique in Italy and Europe.
