Our company has roots in the province of Cuneo, an area which, due to its natural characteristics, has always seen the development of the agricultural sector. Over the years, agricultural, food, product processing, food and wine companies have been born and grown, which have become an excellence all over the world, showing high quality and cutting-edge technology with the times.
To understand how crucial the agrifood sector is for the future of the planet, just read the data emerging from international reports: the sector provides a means of subsistence for over 1.23 billion people around the world .
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) estimates that, to feed the global population expected to be 9.1 billion people by 2050, the agrifood sector will have to produce 70% more food compared to current levels and will have to do so with resources similar to those of today, but in the direction of greater equity in the supply chain.
At the same time climate change, the unequal distribution of food in the world population, soil degradation, supply interruptions caused by international conflicts and the shortage of water accentuate the differences and possibilities of equal distribution of food resources and make it more difficult, if not impossible, to maintain the same food production. We need new methods, less waste and greater respect for nature in a constantly changing context and difficult to predict.
